We woke up early - puh 7.30am on a Sunday is pretty tough!! We went to SF to rent some bikes. To get to the bike station we rode with an old very traditional train.
The weather was awesome as usual! It was pretty windy and I had to wear my sweater most of the time but later it became super hot. We rented the bikes at around 11am and had them until 6pm. This is what we did:
We drove along the waterfront to the Golden Gate Bridge, did a stop at the beach, crossed the bridge and went to Sausalitos. Tough ride! The bridge was covered in fog first, but it disappeared later.

Then we continued via another great point where we took some pictures again...
To get on the bridge we had to cross another viewpoint:
Theeeen we rode over the bridge! The wind was very heavy but that view...
Oh hey - thats me again - in front of a bridge? A bridge? Oh yeah... we took sooo many pictures today. Sarah made 50, Meikel 99, Andrea made 169 and I made 109 pictures. Happy sorting of the pictures...
And that was one of our bikes! Of course we were wearing helmets - safety first (insert motherly tone here). I was actually glad that we were provided with helmets. I saw a Korean girl who looked pretty bad after an accident. Swollen nose, bleeding lips, limping leg, her jeans were distroyed... There were some tough and steep moments, but also some very downhill moments were you gained a lot of speed - guess she doesn't go by bike a lot...
We continued downhill to Sausalitos - yep another viewpoint:
Then we arrived in Sausalitos. It was soooo hot by now and all the restaurants are really expensive. I saw a pizza for 25 dollars on the menu standing on the sidewalk - bargain! Not...
After a sandwich we ate icecream - yummy!
We took the ferry back to San Francisco. This was a nice adventure, the wind was cool but it still was sooooo hot!
Then we gave our rental bikes back - which were thanks to a -20% moment pretty cheap. We payed 25 Dollars for each bike. For 7 hours I think that's a fair price.
We had Thai for dinner and now we are all very exhausted after riding around 10 miles...
