Almost NYE!

Yesterday was one of those days when you try to get stuff done but somehow you end up doing nothing. After breakfast we chilled before going to return that mobile charger I bought. I bought it a few weeks ago and it didn't work, so I returned it. The new one they gave me wasn't working too soooo I ended up getting my money back. Will buy a new one soon. We went to Phil's BBQ - OMG!! Best restaurant in whole SD! The line was insane but it only took us 40 minutes until we were inside. The sauce was amazing and even though I don't like a lot of meat the ribs were to die for!!

After the meat we were craving chocolate so we went to Sead's candy - OMG!!

After being in foodcome I bought Gerardo's mom some flowers. I wanted to say thank you for the nice welcome and the amazing food she cooked for us.


In the evening we went to a cousin of Gerardo's who got a baby. The little boy was really cute and his family is a lot of fun!! Today we are leaving for LA - packing my bags! Happy new year to everyone!!

Belmont Park

Yesterday we had a lazy day. We did nothing the whole morning except for having breakfast.

In the afternoon Gerardo and I went to Belmont Park which has an amusement park on the beach. The weather was great and sunny.

For dinner we went to "World's Curry" as a friend of mine gave me advice to go there. In the evening we had nachos with guacamole and started to watch "Malificient" and "The game stands tall" but both were soooo boring.

Balboa Park

Today we woke up late again and on a sunday here in the US everyone goes crazy for football! #footballsundayyyy

When we were ready we drove to Balboa Park again to see it at sunlight. I have a really big blister on my foot so I am handicaped since a few days. Glad there is a train which drives you trough the whole park. I really like the whole mexican/spanish influence here in San Diego! Reminds me of my family holidays back in the old days in Spain :-) Aaaand I really start to understand a few words in Spanish. Gerardo's mum and I talk with hands to understand each other buuut at the end of the day - it somehow works ;-)

After the park we drove to Coronado beach. You have to cross a biiiiiig bridge and the view from there is amazing! Coronado beach was a great place with really nice houses on the beach worth millions of dollars.

We were hungry so we drove back to Ocean Beach for some asian food. A place were that chief from the TV show went there too! Yummyyyyy!

Just been to Walmart to buy some stuff and now we will watch a movieee agaiiiin - will miss watching movies when I get back to Germany a lot...

Feeling myself

Yesterday we basically did nothing except for shopping and eating - haha: this is MY place to live!!

After breakfast Gerardo and I went to a mall again, to return jeans which ripped in the morning. Then I bought myself a christmas present - a nice bag from Kate Spade :-) I got a check from the university so I got some money back. This money I used to buy the bag.

After shopping we went to Ocean Beach to grab some food. Gerardo showed me some videos on youtube with a kitchen chef which goes to several places in the US where there is great food. He went to a restaurant in San Diego too and this was the place we went to: a nice burger shop! OH MY GOD!!! Those burgers... AMAZING!

After the burgers we met with Gerardo's sister and her boyfriend. They took us to a nice pizza place in downtown and yeah we ate again! The pizzeria also has a coffee roastery and we got a tour. The guy owning the place showed us how they make coffee and what plans they have for a wine bar - that was cool! James has a really nice dog, it's a big one but a really lovely one and super quiet.

After the pizza we drove through Balboa Park back home and came across a really cool garden with xmas decoration.

You got milk?

 I woke up and had breakfast.

Today we did some retail therapy - which means in detail: returning a loooot of stuff! And as it was the first time stores open after christmas, everyone went crazy to return stuff! We went to return stuff at Footlocker, Macy's, American Eagle... I did some shopping and bought 2 shirts in return for a jacket - yeah!

 
 We had the best pizza in town for luuunch:

Tonight we went to the movies again. This time we went to a very nice movie theater with recliners. So we had a chilled time during the movie. We watched "Unbroken" but it was pretty cruel...

PS: Why do Americans drink milk when they eat a cake? I get asked everytime if I want milk with my cookies or cake... ahm - nooo? Why should I? Hahaaa - the cake isn't dry and I will make it without milk. It's sooo funny to see their faces when I say no thanks to milk ;-)
