Washington DC Day 2!
We woke up with hurting feet... super hurting feet... so we did another chilled day. We started with a metro ride to the Pentagon. Unfortunately you are not allowed to take a photo of it which is crazy because you can find hundreds on google but as there where standing about a dozent of policemen - I didn't take one. There is a 9/11 memorial too, which we visited.
Then we went to the Zoo. The weather was fantastic and we chilled in the sun for a bit. The Zoo is quite a big one but we saw more people than animal.
The most important information of the day ;-)
After the Zoo we went to have dinner at a Lebanese restaurant. Andrea and I are experts now in sharing food!
We took the bus to Georgetown which is such a great area!! Great for shopping and eating! We got a Ben & Jerrys Icecream - actually it was the kids size but it was soooo big!!
Now we know where everybody is - in Georgetown! So much people there!!
We walked along a small river to get to our hotel area.
Then we decided to walk to the Roosevelt Island which has a bridge to cross which remindet me of the James Bond movie when Bond was traded for Zao :-) Guess I have a thing for Korea...
From the bridge you have a great view in each direction. On the Island there is a Roosevelt memorial and a Washington Path which is a 1,6 miles loop. A lot of runners but it was a nice place!!
In case you wonder which island I am talking about: here you can see it.
Tomorrow we are leaving for San Francisco... Very excited! Then we will drive from the airport to our apartment in Hayward. We have no navigation and are driving with a good old printed map - hope we will make it! In case you don't hear from us in the next 72h - please contact 911! So tonights plan - pack again... my suitcase is a mess again... Andrea manages pretty good with her luggage - I have no idea how she is able to do so??!! My bag is a mess after 5 minutes!
