Beaching on Big Island

We are staying in a really cool crib near Pahoa on Big Island. We booked it over Airbnb and it's an avocado tree house basically in the middle of nowhere on huuuge land. The owner is a really relaxed couple and they also have a mango tree house. We basically have 3 huts for ourself. One is our livingroom/ bedroom with an attic and you can see the ocean! The second hut is our restroom and a shower which is open air. The third hut is our kitchen with a great patio! So this definitely is hut love at its best! Never experienced such a cool place to stay! The owner has pics and art everywhere and of course you need to take off your shoes when entering - Hawaiian style!

Our host plants a lot of fruits: from papayas to oranges - we are spoiled!

Yesterday we did some beach hopping. We started at Alahanui Beach Park with a thermal pool.

Then we continued via Isaaac Kepo'okalani Hale Beach Park to A'akepa which is located at MacKenzie State Recreation Area. The sea runs like a river through it and you see the lava rocks which are pretty impressive.

We chilled at Kehena Beach but as some of the visitors were nude I didn't want to make pictures. In the evening we went to a city called Kalapena in which "Oncle Rob" took place. It's like a small festival with food stands and jewellery and music! The band was cool, we danced and ate good food!

And it was still so hot that THIS was enough!

Today we went to Hilo to do some shopping. I bought some souvenirs and my last 2 postcards to write! We strolled a bit around and then went to Richardson State Park to relax. Beaches here on the eastcoast are hard to find, mostly there is rocks from lava. Really excited for Kona in a few days to see real beaches again ;-)
